I always knew it was worth it to peruse the Jewish Week that sits on the kitchen table. After all, it travelled all the way across the Atlantic to get there. The least I could do is read it.
And this time I found a gem. Â A Jewish non-profit gem.
Its called the Jewish GDP. Gary Rosenblatt wrote a great editorial about the study (put out by Mark Pearlman of jinsider.com). Â Check out the editorial here, and a slideshow presentation of the study itself here.
Some highlights: 1) The Jewish GDP is $9.7 billion. 2) 25 percent of funds go to social welfare. 3) 33% of revenue is concentrated among the top 10 non-profits. 4) More than 25% of funds come through the Federation system.
