As far as I can see Jewish non-profits are not experimenting enough with new technology as a means to interact with current and potential members and donors!
As a whole, Jewish organizations efforts have been mostly disappointing!
The “Ask my Rabbi” show, a video blog by my friend and Rabbi Eli Garfinkel is a great example of how Jewish groups can get people involved in a fun and creative manner.
Here’s some recent publicity about the ask my Rabbi show from the Tallance.com blog:
“Major props to Rabbi Eli Garfinkel for using technology in a creative and forward-thinking way. The Ask My Rabbi Show lets the inquisitive anonymously send their Jewish-related questions to the reb, who will answer them in front of a camera and post the answer online.
My question: why aren’t more Jewish organizations thinking so creatively about web technologies?”
